Our Council.
One of the most important ways parents/guardians and community members can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on the school council. Under the School Act, a school council is a collective association designed to advise the principal and the CBE Board of Trustees on matters related to the school.

Our QuestionsWhen is Council elected?
Council is elected at the AGM meeting held in May the year prior. Who can attend Council meetings? Council meetings are open to anyone who is the parent, guardian or legal custodian of a student registered at Silver Springs School. Can I bring my children to Council Meetings? Ideally this is adults only but we understand that life happens! If childcare is an issue for you during these meeting times, please feel free to bring them with you! While we do not have formal childcare, our meetings are held in the library so children will have access to the books and computers there or we can even put on a movie for them to keep them occupied quietly at nearby tables while the adults meet. |
